In the current environment of foreign policy conflicts and the introduction of sanctions programmes, Russian enterprises in the industrial and high-tech sector have encountered difficulties in supplying equipment and components from abroad, particularly from the US. However, there is no way around the sanctions legislation, and we strongly advise against attempting to organise equipment purchases from the US without being 100% compliant. Rod Tuvaev, head of Alliance Legal CG's sanctions law practice, talks about the practical steps, from the planning and approval stage to implementing a project to purchase equipment in the US that is subject to export controls.

If the parties to a case disagree with the conclusions of a forensic examination of a document's age, they often try to persuade the court to order an additional or second forensic examination. Such attempts usually fail. The reason, in particular, is that the forensic expert examination of document antiquity is a complex activity requiring not only special knowledge but also availability of necessary equipment (chromatograph and spectrophotometer).
