A client transferred 2.5 million roubles to a freelance consultant at a brokerage company. He was supposed to transfer the money to her brokerage account. But according to her, the recipient had cheated her. So she demanded the entire amount from him as unjust enrichment. The consultant himself assured that the plaintiff had lost the money and was thus "trying to make up for her financial loss". His words were also confirmed by witnesses. The three courts, however, ignored this evidence and sided with the plaintiff. The lower courts were corrected by the Supreme Court.
